Web hosting?
I am going to start two websites very soon. My web host offers two domains so does this mean I can have two websites with one plan? Also should I chose Linux hosting or Microsoft hosting? I will use PHP and Java in both of my websites. And I am choosing 1&1 if it makes a difference.

- I recommend DreamHost, offers unlimited Mysql databases, unlimited domains and subdomains, ssh, ftp and shftp users, apps auto installers, aprox. 256 gb for 119 dlls anual payment, webmail, the most important and flexible thing in dreamhost is the webpanel, where you can access to phpmyadmin, webftp, webmail manager, and alot of things... i bet you like it
- It sounds like your plan allows 2 websites, and you may as well go with Linux.
- just careful, java needs a container like Tomcat or Jetty...PHP works in apache out of the box..pretty much...you want to go Linux... and you could use tomcat over Apache...you have to play with some configuration, though.
- 1&1 web hosting sucks, I had to move my websites to another web hosting provider http://aplis.net/ , you can also give them a try, first month free.
- I can fully recommend Hostgator Web Hosting. I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them. Firstly they're very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I'll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support. For less than $8 a month you get: 600 Gigs of Web Hosting Space 6,000 Gigabytes of Bandwidth Host UNLIMITED Websites 99.9% Uptime Guarantee 45 Day Money Back Guarantee CGI, PHP 4 & 5, RoR, Perl MySQL, SSH, SSL, IMAP, POP cPanel Hosting 24/7/365 Upgraded Support You can find them at http://www.webhostgator.info
